LCA Modular Course: Skill Development for Hair & Beauty in LCA, Day 2
- Target Group
- Two workshops have been designed to support teachers who are teaching the LCA Hair & Beauty course as a Vocational Specialism or as an elective but who are not qualified Hairdressers or Beauticians.
- Course Aims
- Workshop 1 - LCA Hair Care and Blow Drying (half day) Demonstration.
This workshop will be conducted by a qualified hairdresser and will demonstrate good practice in the following areas:
Setting up a work station, Preparation of clients for service, Customer care, Hair analysis, Shampooing & conditioning, Conditioning treatments, Blow drying (Equipment & products, Techniques), Simple hairstyles incorporating dressing aids and Safe, healthy and hygienic practices.
Workshop 2 - LCA Hand Care, Manicure and Nail Art (half day)
This workshop will be conducted by a qualified nail technician and will involve both demonstration and 'hands on' practice in the following areas:
Structure of the nail, Hand and nail conditions, Setting up a manicure station, Manicure (Equipment & products, Technique including hand massage, Polishing and buffing), Nail art, Safe healthy and hygienic practices, Customer care.
