- • Teachers of Chemistry new to the profession.
• Teachers of Chemistry new to the revised Leaving Certificate syllabus.
• Teachers of Chemistry who feel they need practical hands-on experience of the Mandatory Experiments. - Course Aims
- • Understand the structure and content of the new chemistry syllabus and the teacher guidelines.
• Identify best practice in laboratory safety and management
• Recognise and employ effective teaching methods for communicating chemistry
• Master the skills required to carry out a large range of experiments listed in the syllabus
• Participate successfully in a forum for teachers to reflect on their own teaching and share experiences and useful resources
• Prepare a case study on part of your teaching practice and record your findings
