SL1026: Teaching electricity supported with my own online module

- These meetings form part of the EU ITEMS project in which the SLSS is a partner. The intention is to improve teacher education in science and mathematics. Teaching electricity (and other topics) in school is supported with copies of online modules provided exclusively for individual teachers and their own classes. All technical issues and hosting are dealt with by the project: only a working broadband connection in school is required.
This would suit Junior Science, Transition Year or introductory leaving cert classes.
If you need support in teaching more difficult topics or have an interest in providing students with online support in a private secure area then this meeting and project are for you. Benefits include automatic grading of assessments, recording of all student work and helping students who are otherwise difficult to reach. All modules are customizable. Meetings will give hands on experience in the ICT room so that teachers become confident with the science and the technology.
Interested teachers should attend 2 evening sessions (I and II) 2 to 3 weeks apart.
